To live at this estate on the North Shore of Kauai would leave a person with just one problem: Where to go when seeking a relaxing vacation?

In this region of Maui—the second largest in the Hawaiian Islands—winds can be gentle or fierce, depending on the season. Taking this into account, the Olson Kundig team strategically positioned this 4,500-square-foot home.

Nestled behind lush hedges and secure gates, the home’s wood exterior and clean modern lines immediately make it a star among its neighbors. Its balanced beauty is welcoming, and its low profile perfectly proportioned to the size of the lot.

While this house was built in 2007, its architecture and interior design clearly references Californian Modernism. It’s one of the reasons why Ron Radziner loves it so much.

When the Museum opens later this year, on Wilshire and Fairfax in the Miracle Mile neighborhood of Los Angeles, and just in time for a new awards season, expect a blockbuster.
