IKEA Tiny House: Small Space, Big Style

Since its debut in 1943, IKEA has been a pioneer. At that time, its founder, Ingvar Kamprad, was only 17 years old. He started the company with a small sum of money that his dad rewarded him for doing well in school. He chose the name IKEA as an abbreviation of Ingvar Kamprad from Elmtaryd (the family farm), Agunnaryd (the nearby village, located in southern Sweden). The rest is history.

Lopud 1483: Out of the Ruins

Overlooking the hypnotic depths of the Adriatic, the remnants of an ancient time speak to an ancient place. This is Lopud 1483, a 15th-century Franciscan monastery complex, with its church, Our Lady of the Cave, so named for the fact that the friary was built over a sea cave that was later transformed into an underground passage connecting it with the open ocean.
