After Five Years of Design and Construction, 9364 Beverly Crest Where Modernism Meets Art Deco Offers Jetliner Views From the City to the Ocean

“The idea was what kind of a romantic moment would a movie star want to experience in their own life, and how does their personal movie unfold,” confesses Daphna Ziman, the president of TV network CINÉMOI and the developer and designer of 9364 Beverly Crest, Beverly Hills. The piece of land immediately convinced Daphna Ziman to create this project, which represents tried-and-true Hollywood offered by Drew Fenton of Hilton & Hyland and Josh Flagg of Rodeo Realty.

“I got fed up with all the modern homes being boxes, gray and dull,” she says.

“So I wanted to design something that was unique and different, and take advantage of what Los Angeles Stands for—glamour and views, sunsets and sunrises, and this is what the house is all about.”

Spread over 10,270 square feet, the five-bedroom, eight-bath property comprises a massive motor court that can accommodate approximately 15 cars and a security suite.

With its skylit elliptical staircase floating over a waterfall and pond, the dramatic entrance is a prelude to the impressive great room with 14-foot-high ceilings and walls of automated glass that retract to welcome in the exceptional panorama, in addition to the full show kitchen and back catering kitchen.

“There is not one shade of gray in the entire home. Everything is black and gold but understated and speaks with an undertone rather than an overtone.”

“I chose every material for a reason with the idea in mind to make everything very warm but still modern,” says Daphna Ziman, who was particularly influenced by Karl Lagerfeld and the late fashion icon’s elegant, richly textured house in the south of France.

Prevailing throughout the house, the modern art deco style also characterizes the primary bedroom, which features walls paneled in Macassar and velvet.

With a game room and bar, screening room, gym, and three additional bedrooms suites in the lower level, as well as a 92-foot-long infinity-edge pool and gardens, this house, currently on the market for $33,950,000, is a legend in its making.
