Mandeville Canyon in a Tranquil Setting

By

Share

When Santa Monica architect Philip Vertoch set out to design this newly completed home in Brentwood, he was influenced by Napa Valley’s romantic and rustic farmhouses. Think a modern version of the popular Napa-inspired style boasting a breathtaking stone-accented façade paired with streamlined interiors punctuated by light hardwood flooring, soaring wood-beamed ceilings, marble kitchen flooring and distinct tile in each bath.

Also included: an expansive backyard ideal for relaxing and entertaining, plus a coveted locale nestled behind gates in Lower Mandeville Canyon just minutes from the beach and city.

“The richness of texture and quality of construction give this home a uniqueness unlike any other,” says Jennifer Pinckert Tierney,

who is co-listing the property at 1707 Westridge Road with Kale Mendeleyev, both of Compass, for $23.495 million. “The social rooms of the home all open right onto the backyard, making the flow a complete indoor-outdoor living experience. You can’t see any neighbors from the backyard, so the privacy and mature landscape of the backyard make you feel like you are on constant vacation.”

Equipped with a whopping nine bedrooms and 15 baths, the tri-level abode features 16,000-plus square feet of refined yet comfortable living space highlighted by a duo of staircases (and an elevator), along with a wine cellar; gym; media room; caterer’s kitchen; and spa bath replete with a dual vanity, sauna, and massage and steam rooms.

An elegant master suite boasts dual walk-in closets and baths, while a covered loggia leads to 36,800 square feet of verdant grounds showcased by a Baja shelf-style pool and spa; fire-pit; barbecue fireplace with pizza oven; and guesthouse, all overlooking treetops and distance ocean vistas.

“Even though the house is larger in scale, our favorite aspect of the home is that it still feels livable in that every space makes sense,” says Pinckert Tierney. “Each area and bedroom were thoughtfully laid out. It is a very functional house with everything you could possibly want or need.”
