Apollo Landing a New Dining Destination is Set to Boost the Scene in El Segundo This Fall

While the name of El Segundo’s newest dining destination, Apollo Landing, is an homage to the region’s long history of aerospace research, the offerings are more of the tasty variety. Think everything from a modern-day version of a roadside hamburger stand serving burgers, chicken, hot dogs, shakes, frozen custard, beer and wine, to a San Francisco-based company that creates drip coffee using 30 different signature blends from around the world.

“Currently, El Segundo boasts more than $1 billion in recent and planned developments,” says Barbara Voss, economic development manager of the city of El Segundo. “Apollo Landing brings more dining options to the already buzzing Rosecrans corridor. We are so pleased Continental Development Corp. chose a name to honor the city’s heritage and recognition as the ‘Aerospace Capital of the World.’”

Situated at 2171-2191 Rosecrans Ave., the three-building complex is set to include 13,500 square feet of Retail Design Collaborative-crafted space featuring nationally recognized restaurants and local chef-driven concepts when it debuts this fall as part of Continental Park, an 83-acre mixed-use development with more than 3 million square feet of office space.

The lineup includes six restaurants, including the popular New York City-based hamburger chain Shake Shack; Tender Greens, the chef-led, seasonal kitchen serving farmer’s market-driven cooking in a casual atmosphere; Philz Coffee, a Bay Area favorite that personalizes each cup of coffee served; Pier 76 Fish Grill, a healthy and affordable seafood restaurant offering classic favorites with an innovative twist; and Caló Kitchen + Tequila, a boutique concept specializing in tequila and serving authentic Mexican cuisine.

The first restaurant is expected to open in October, with the rest following soon after and one more eatery slated for later this year.

“We are thrilled that Continental Development Corp. is bringing these well-known, high-quality restaurants to El Segundo,” says Barbara Voss. “These six new dining options offer exciting choices for our residents and the nearly 60,000 people who work in our business community. We have seen significant investment from companies relocating to El Segundo or expanding their existing operations in the city, as we offer competitive lease rates, low business taxes, a highly-skilled workforce, and unequaled connectivity to greater L.A. with access to LAX, the metro and major freeways. These new dining choices will help meet the growing demand for restaurants in the area.”
