A pair of gleaming oval towers stretching 35 stories into the sky is now welcoming residents to the best seat in the house via Circa, a new $500-million luxury rental apartment complex situated directly across the street from L.A. Live and the Staples Center. Not only will dwellers be able to walk just steps from their homes to top entertainment, but they also will have access to world-class dining, night life and shopping in the up-and-coming South Park district of DTLA. . . not to mention some pretty stylish digs.

“We certainly want to take what makes the excitement of the neighborhood so special and put that on display,” says Scott Dobbins, president of Hankey Investment Co., one of four investment entities that owns Circa. “Our residences all offer unparalleled views of Los Angeles, and the ones facing Staples Center and L.A. Live give residents a front-row seat to the lights and action. Circa adds to the thrill with its own 18,000 feet of digital LED lighting.”

Set on a 2.7-acre parcel at 1200 S. Figueroa St., the 2 million-square-foot development offers retail and restaurant space, with living options including 648 one- and two-bedroom units and three-bedroom penthouses spanning from the eighth-floor amenity deck to the 35th floor. Ranging from 600 to 4,000 square feet—and priced from $3,000 to $25,000 per month—the HansonLA-designed residences boast high-end European finishes (including bath and kitchen cabinetry by Bauformat), soaring ceilings and floor-to-ceiling glass windows, with most homes enjoying balconies offering panoramic views of Downtown, the San Gabriel Mountains, Pacific or Staples Center.

Among the resort-rivaling services and amenities: a 2-acre landscaped rooftop park with a circular resort pool, 75-foot lap pool, two spas, cabanas, fireplaces and fire pits, gardens, barbecues, dining areas, two dog parks (complete with a pet owner’s lounge and grooming area), an observation deck overlooking the Staples Center and more. Also offered is the Circa Concierge powered by Hello Alfred smartphone app, available to help residents with everything from party planning to grocery delivery.

“Circa will surely continue to stimulate the booming Downtown L.A. economy with exciting (and yet to be announced) retail options on our ground floor,” says Dobbins. “Our first tenants appear to be a broad spectrum of local renters, along with some relocating from cities like New York and San Francisco. We’re also physically reshaping the historic L.A. skyline with our twin towers. Downtown L.A. is at the crossroads of the Los Angeles region, and we’re ecstatic to be in the epicenter of it all.”
