Caribbean Luxury

A beloved destination through the years, Malliouhana, Auberge Resorts Collection now offers even more reasons to visit. The beachside hideaway overlooking Meads Bay and Turtle Cove in Anguilla reopens in mid-December following a refresh and updates a year in the making. “We have poured our heart and soul into restoring the resort guests have come to know and love, while adding new amenities that elevate and complement this special corner of paradise,” says John Volponi, general manager and regional vice president, Auberge Resorts Collection.

Expect 11 new beachfront suites and four garden suites, along with a completely new Auberge Spa and gathering spaces. Among the highlights is a newly expanded pool deck that now extends toward the cliff’s edge to create a scenic overlook, and a new two-bedroom beachfront villa boasting Caribbean-inspired décor and a private plunge pool. Also coming: two new standout dining concepts—Bar Soleil and Café Celeste. malliouhana.aubergeresorts.com

Haven’t visited Castle Resorts & Hotels’ hip new boutique hotel on Kauai’s famed Royal Coconut Coast? Here’s what you’ve been missing at the Kauai property called The ISO (short for Island, Sky, Ocean): a recent $5 million renovation of the former Mokihana Resort that includes the lobby, guest rooms, exterior and grounds. Expect 79 ocean-front rooms revamped with rustic-chic island decor (along with logoed canteen coffee mugs, refillable water bottles and yoga mats), as well as a new poolside fire-pit seating area and a terrace for the Bull Shed steakhouse.

Guests can also look forward to perks like yoga on the oceanfront lawn, complimentary Continental breakfast, and bikes to explore the area and 4-mile coastal trail. “The ISO offers everyone a place to rejuvenate their mind, body and soul,” says General Manager Ala Perreira. “It allows you to fall in love with taking care of yourself, reminding you to breathe, slow down and enjoy the little things.” theiso.com -W.B
