Bird’s-Eye View

A 1949 mid-century modern, William Pereira-designed estate once leased by Frank Sinatra has entered the market at $12.5 million, complete with panoramic views from atop a private promontory overlooking the Chatsworth Nature Preserve. Known as “Byrdview,” the compound was also the site of Judy Garland and Vincente Minnelli’s wedding-vow renewal; accommodated Marilyn Monroe in the guesthouse; and has appeared in TV shows and films from Mad Men to Dreamgirls.

Expect 8,000-plus square feet of light-filled living space on one level boasting soaring ceilings, walls of glass and four fireplaces, along with seven manicured acres holding the previously mentioned guesthouse, two pools and pool cabana. An added bonus? Parking for more than 100 cars and vineyard zoning. Craig Knizek is co-listing the residence with Barrie Livingstone, both of The Agency.

Dwelling Delight

This charming three-bedroom, 1,301-square-foot residence owned by talent manager and media coach Marki Costello (granddaughter of comedy legend Lou Costello) was built in 1949 and recently remodeled by Bravo TV designer Jeff Lewis (even appearing on his Interior Therapy show). Think hardwood flooring throughout, a backyard ideal for entertaining with a barbecue off the kitchen and more.

“This reimagined bungalow offers stunning indoor-outdoor living spaces; a bright, open living room with a fireplace that leads to a covered deck; and a separate den/office with a reclaimed wood accent wall,” says Brandon Assanti of Rodeo Realty, who is listing the property for $2.295 million. “Best of all, it’s in the best walkable Pacific Palisades location within blocks to Caruso’s brand-new Palisades Village, Palisades Bluffs Park and the ocean.”
