A purveyor of fine cheese parlays his passion into the new Andrew’s Cheese Shop

In his book Medium Raw, famed chef Anthony Bourdain stated: “You have to be a romantic to invest yourself, your money, and your time in cheese.”

This, coincidentally, could be the textbook description of Andrew Steiner and his store, Andrew’s Cheese Shop.

The rustic, European-inspired shop offers decadent cheeses, charcuterie-style meats and all the proper accouterments, from honey to freshly baked bread. Now he is sharing his love of cheese through his shop, dropping knowledge on novice and enthusiastic cheese lovers alike.

“We love for people to come in and be excited to try something new,” shares Steiner of talking about cheese with inquisitive customers.

While there are hundreds of cheeses on hand, “they are seasonal like a fruit,” notes Steiner, so there is always a reason to stop by to see what’s new at the counter. Some of Steiner’s favorites, now in limited supply, are Beaufort, a French Alpine known as the “Prince of Gruyere,” which is rich and sweet, and Rogue River Blue, once voted the world’s best blue cheese at the World Cheese Championship in London.

Steiner is also an investor in a co-op in the Swiss Alps, where he, along with a handful of other investors around the world, gain exclusive rights over a variety of cheeses. But the shop is also filled with hard-to-find products like pickled dwarf peaches in truffles sauce, small production fig jams and rare chocolates.

Call the shop, provide a head count and the crew will tailor a boxed picnic in minutes—perfect for concerts in the park, the beach or your next play date. Catering for events, weddings, and parties is also available via this location.
