Jane Sager of RE/MAX Estate Properties

Originally from the midwest, Jane Sager moved to the South Bay to pursue an electrical engineering career. Larry Wolf, of Shorewood Realtors, was also an engineer before he switched to real estate, and it was Wolf who inspired Jane Sager to make the change, too.

For 25 years Jane Sager was with Shorewood Realtors acting as an agent for clients throughout the South Bay. Just recently on October 1st, 2013 she made a bold career move, moving to the brand new RE/MAX office in Manhattan Beach on Highland Avenue. Having known Sandra Sanders, RE/MAX Estate Properties Palos Verdes owner and broker, throughout her career, Jane Sager recalls how Sandra Sanders convinced her to come to RE/MAX.

“When I talked with her at one point she said, ‘Where do you see Manhattan Beach Real Estate going?’ and I said, ‘I really think you need a strong presence in downtown Manhattan Beach.’ Doggone her, she went and bought the building!”

The new RE/MAX building on Highland Avenue is, as Jane Sager describes it, “innovative, welcoming, fun, and beachy. It makes people want to come here, it’s a destination…People keep walking by and asking, ‘Is this a home or a restaurant?’ It’s a very welcoming environment and I am so proud to be here.”

The new office space does look a bit like a restaurant, or a luxury living room, with comfortable nooks and tables and what could serve as a bar. It definitely doesn’t have a stale office vibe.  On top of the new location, RE/MAX has great technology that Jane Sager loved.

“They are just really ahead of the game, at the forefront,” she explains. “That was enticing.”

“Now that we’re heading into November, many of my clients are talking to me about picking up investment properties. They recognize that the market is strengthening and that prices will follow suit: this is a fantastic time of year to make a purchase, interest rates are enticingly low and financing could get more challenging next year.”

As far as changes in inventory, Jane Sager feels that “It is consistent all over the country. Everyone is having trouble with low inventory levels.  That’s why being in the business so long is such a huge benefit. I have many friends and clients that are thinking of selling their property—they just need the right information.”

The South Bay is where Jane Sager’s heart is.

“It’s a fabulous place to live,” she says.

“Having moved ten times in the beach cities, I have finally built my dream house on the beach. I have experienced every neighborhood, every nook and cranny, all the walk streets. It’s a wonderful place to raise a family. There’s such a strong sense of community. In the Midwest, neighborhoods are very strong; in LA that is unusual but not here in our South Bay, so it is remarkable in that respect.  I love the fireworks at the end of the year, for example. Friends come over for the sing-along and we eat pizza and watch the incredible fireworks show. For such a large community, it feels very intimate.”
