“The beach culture has become a more refined and desirable community due to great schools, clean beaches, and lots of activities for residents to be involved with,” she says.

The pandemic, too, impacted the market first in the short term and now in a more lasting way.

“Initially, there was a slowdown in real estate activity as buyers and sellers were hesitant to make decisions amidst the uncertainty,” Devra Zandell remembers. “However, as time progressed, we have seen a surge in demand, especially now that interest rates are slowly coming down.”

Currently, she observes on the high-end of the market the presence of over $3 million buyers who are looking for exclusivity, exceptional quality, unique design, as well as sustainability and innovation when it comes to materials and technology.

“As the prices and property value continue to increase, exterior cities are becoming more popular due to better affordability; however, there has never been more of a demand to live in the beach cities,” Devra Zandell says.

One of her current listings, 625 10th St. in Hermosa Beach, confirms this trend. Sold within 1 week with multiple offers, this home is 2,335 square feet, the free-standing townhome offers 3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms (including the luxurious en suite with double vanities and a Jacuzzi-style bathtub), skylights, a spacious rooftop deck with ocean views, three fireplaces—among other features—and is flooded with natural light thanks to its southwest exposure.

Integrating new cutting-edge AI technology and 2D and 3D marketing keeps Devra Zandell ahead of trends over the others.

“If a potential seller or buyer is interested in the real estate market, hiring a seasoned realtor like myself is incredibly important,” Devra Zandell recalls. “Depending on what the client’s needs are, I pride myself on making their best interest always front of mind. I walk them through the buying or selling process with all the details involved. Typically, this is one of the biggest investments a person can make so communication is key.”

With plenty of experience, extensive knowledge and a great deal of passion, Devra Zandell has learned how to adapt to new situations while continuing to help her clients to make the best decisions.
