There’s No Place Like Plaza La Reina

Offering stylish and modern accommodations, a new 44-unit luxury boutique hotel debuts in the vibrant, thriving neighborhood of Westwood Village

Imagine winding down from a long day, sipping a cocktail on a secluded rooftop deck while gazing out over the sparkling lights of the city. Afterward, heading to the kitchen to prepare dinner and then watching a favorite program on the big-screen TV before retiring to a sumptuous bed.

In the morning, you rise to welcome another beautiful Southern California day from a private balcony or charming flower-draped courtyard. Typically, this is an experience one only enjoys at home, but the new luxury boutique proper. Plaza La Reina offers all of these modern-day comforts within a plush hotel specializing in extended-stay accommodations. An added perk: pets are welcome as well.

“Reminiscent of a venerable European villa, a description of Plaza La Reina simply won’t do it justice,” says General Manager Jonathan Wolfe of the hotel, which was built by owner/developer Kambiz Hekmat. “Only upon visiting in person will its exceptional qualities be understood. It should also be said that there is nothing cookie-cutter about Plaza La Reina.”

Situated at 10850 Lindbrook Drive in the heart of Westwood Village—in a private locale easily accessible to Beverly Hills, Century City, Bel-Air and Brentwood, along with UCLA Medical Center—the Spanish-style building was designed by noted architect Stefanos Polyzoides. Studio HBA-designed interiors are complementary, highlighted by high coffered ceilings, antique furniture and parquet oak flooring.

Opened in December, the hotel offers 44 spacious junior and one-bedroom suites priced from the high $200s, with specialty suites (including penthouses and live-work lofts) starting in the high $400s. Various room types are available, each with a distinct charm and personality. Expect designer kitchens outfitted with high-end appliances, Brazilian cherry hardwood flooring, exquisite marble baths stocked with Etro beauty products, 55-inch 4K high-definition flat-screen TVs, and private balconies and terraces.

Amenities are key to the entire home-like experience. Among them is a round-the-clock concierge ready to assist with a multitude of personalized needs; services include exotic car rentals, auto detailing and private jet and yacht options, as well as nannies, babysitters, private chef arrangements, shopping excursions, and salon and spa services.

Meanwhile, the hotel’s public areas were crafted to evoke a sense of community, with a grand staircase leading to an attractive terra-cotta courtyard boasting a fountain (already a favorite local meeting spot among neighbors), and a rooftop terrace that offers the ideal opportunity for small catered gatherings under the stars, amid views of the city skyline.

“With its location, vibrant business community and exceptional cultural venues—such as Hammer Museum and Geffen Playhouse, and especially UCLA and its world-renowned medical center—Plaza La Reina is poised to support Westwood’s renaissance,” says Wolfe. “Mayor Garcetti includes Westwood Boulevard in his ‘Great Streets’ program, and has referred to the hotel as ‘an architectural jewel in Westwood’s crown.’ We intend to live up to his expectations.”

Prepare to enjoy a cordial and luxurious home-away-from-home.
