Redondo Union High School Creates a Tradition of Giving Back

Redondo Union High School partners with non-profit and home developers to transform a dormant building into Alumni House

After working tirelessly for 18 months to gather donations, construction bids convinced RUHS and alumni that the market value for construction far exceeded their donations.

RBUSD Superintendent Dr. Steven Keller reached out to local non-profit Sharefest and, together with local home developers The Morgan Group, reduced the retail cost of materials and labor.

“The RUHS alumni house needed to be revitalized because it signifies a school district and community’s respect for its rich and storied 110-year-old history,” says Dr. Keller. Bringing their vision to fruition, the building that went unused for more than 35 years will serve as a place for alumni homecomings, class reunions, fellowship and to preserve historic memorabilia.
