Battle of the Brokers: Real Estate For All

The First in an Engaging Series of Local Events—presented by Beach City Capital + DIGS, and Happening at the Historic Bijou Building in Hermosa Beach, CA—offers Vital in-person Connection Among Real Estate Agents, Homeowners, Investors and More

Real estate is the strongest link in the community chain,” muses DIGS founder Warren Dow. “It’s the connector because everyone’s interested in it, whether you’re renting, buying, selling—or thinking about doing any of these.”

On October 5th Dow and Beach City Capital boss Jason Muller converged at Local Collaborative Hermosa—a sunny co-working space steps from the Pier on Hermosa Avenue—and discussed all things residential South Bay real estate. They were joined by a trio of high-profile local agents: Chris Adlam of Vista Sotheby’s International; Lauren Forbes of COMPASS; and Rob Freedman of DOMO Real Estate.

“We had an A-list caliber of Who’s Who agents to kick off the first event,” says Dow, who co-moderated the discussion with Beach City Capital’s CEO Jason Muller, and shared his decade-long immersion in the local market with interesting data points.

What area of the South Bay has had the highest appreciation in the last 10 years? Hermosa Beach, where prices have increased 127%.

Events will be held every quarter, featuring presenters and topic experts working in all corners of residential and commercial real estate—from agents, investors and financiers to developers, designers and builders.

“It’s a great networking event,” says Dow. “And for those who aren’t real estate professionals, it’s an amazing way to get in-depth market intel and advice from movers and shakers, who are doing massive volumes of transactions.”

Then there’s the uniquely positive experience of being gathered in one place, and connecting with other links in this unifying community chain—real estate. Perhaps that’s the richest data point of all.
