Rafael Zakaria’s first spec home hits the market for $48 million. According to Mansion Global, Zakaria spent four years building the 20,000-square-foot mansion, which includes large walls for artwork, open-plan living areas, and sculptural elements.
Among the highlights: a large O-shaped wooden sculpture that appears to hold up the second story of the house; a giant Italian chandelier that dangles through the center of the staircase and connects the three floors; and Portuguese limestone and Italian Calacatta marble throughout.
Among the other features is seven bedrooms (including two staff bedrooms); five fireplaces; a 20-person movie theater; a wall of wine; a gym; a spa; a tennis court; a 16-car garage; and a pool with fixed recliners that seem to float on the surface of the water. Rayni Williams is listing the property with her husband, Branden Williams, both of Hilton & Hyland. They are co-listing the home with Aaron Kirman of Compass.
