Gas Lamp Section | Located between Blanche road and Grandview Avenue, from 21st St. to 24th Street. Used to have gas-fired street lamps, many originals remain. Lots in this area are typically 30 x 90 feet. Many original homes have been replaced with newer, multi-story homes.
Liberty Village/Heights | Most homes in the original tract were built in 1950, with lots approximately 5,400 square feet. A second liberty Village development was built in 1952, with lots approximately 5,000 square feet. The heights is the westernmost portion with gentle hills and city views for some homes. The heights has had slightly more new construction than liberty Village.
Poet’s Section | The area between Mira Costa High School and Pacific Coast Highway. Street names refer to poets: Longfellow, Tennyson, etc.
Manhattan Village | Gated development of homes. Park-like community. El Porto | Renamed north manhattan Beach; still referred to by many as el porto. Smaller lots, ocean views. major surf locale.
