Legendary Actor Robert Duvall Sells West Hollywood Bungalow for $1.6M

Robert Duvall got an offer he couldn’t refuse. According to Realtor.com, The Godfather star has sold his West Hollywood two-bedroom, three-bath home for $1.6 million. The property wasn’t the legendary actor’s main residence, however: He also owns a 362-acre farm in The Plains, Virginia, where he spends most of his time. Built in 1924, the 1,065-square-foot home was fully renovated and comes with a guesthouse. The property is “walled, gated, hedged, and extremely private,” according to the listing.

Duvall, who starred opposite Marlon Brando in The Godfather, owned the West Hollywood home for almost ten years. Built in 1924, the 1065-square-foot house has been fully renovated, and is located on a prime street in the Norma Triangle. It is also located behind gates and hedges for extra privacy. Beyond the seclusion, however, sits a front courtyard to welcome guests. The Spanish-style home also boasts hardwood floors, high ceilings, French doors leading into the master bedroom, and an open floor plan. The detached guesthouse includes a third bedroom that could also be turned into a gym or a studio.

Antonio Pierce Picks Up Contemporary Classic

A Palos Verdes gem with Pacific Ocean views is a modern-day getaway

Perched high on a hill in the most sought-after Lunada Bay community in Palos Verdes Estates is a contemporary classic. Notable for being near the area’s top public and private schools, the award winning Terranea Resort and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, one could think of 1376 Via Romero as a private oasis. With a luscious stucco exterior, Terracotta roof tiles, and subtle landscaping that entices with an alluring simplicity, it’s the thoughtful adornments that add a touch of elegance and frame the overall look of the home.

With just over 10,000 square feet of living space, and a maximized open concept inverse floor plan, a home of this caliber offers a family-friendly design that’s also ideal for those who enjoy entertaining. Built ahead of its time, with a modern-day remodel, the overall essence of this six-bedroom, eight-bathroom abode is a timeless embrace. With 180 degrees of unobstructed ocean views, along with 25-foot floor-to-ceiling windows that pristinely line both levels of the residence, there’s no question that former New York Giants Super Bowl champion, Antonio Pierce, called this au courant property home.

“As soon as you walk in the door, the place just has that wow factor,” says Jocelyn Pierce, wife of Antonio Pierce and representative of Vista Sotheby’s International Realty. It’s a quality that continues as you make your way through the home. The geometrically shaped living room is both expansive and inviting. Accents include lofty vaulted ceilings, wood beams, and brilliantly articulated skylights that let in natural ambient lighting. Located off the living room is a stylishly modern European-inspired kitchen with an ambiance of its own. Highlights here include top-of-the-line appliances, beautiful Caesarstone countertops, flat-panel cabinetry, and a large wrap-around balcony as an amenity to the space. The generously-sized master suite, meanwhile, is a true getaway, with two-story closet space, an en-suite master bathroom with heated floors, a steam shower, and a private wrap-around balcony that embraces far-reaching and picturesque views.

In contrast to the main floor, the downstairs area holds a more intimate living space that includes private bedrooms, an updated home office, a game room, wine cellar, and state-of-the-art gym. All this incentivizes one to stay put. However, the property’s outdoor entertainment area also entices with a vast patio space quintessential for enjoying the awe-inspiring ocean scenery, along with a full-sized regulation tennis court oriented from north to south, and a half basketball court.

In all, this private oasis is a Palos Verdes gem, meticulously designed with contemporary appeal, expansive views and lavish essentials galore.

Iconic Hollywood Home

1896 Rising Glen Road 1896 Rising Glen RoadThe former Regency Pavilion-style home of Academy Award-winning director John Schlesinger (best known for his work on Midnight Cowboy) has hit the market for just under $15 million. Situated at 1896 Rising Glen Road, on a cul-de-sac above Sunset Plaza, the most show-stopping features of the residence are its privacy, scale and spectacular city to ocean views—all of which have been enjoyed by the likes of the Rolling Stones, Richard Gere, and Cindy Crawford through the years.

“The property is adjacent to the Bird Streets, which has become quite the sought-after neighborhood,” says listing agent Chris Dyson of The Agency. “It sits on approximately 1.25 acres of complete privacy; you can’t see any part of the house from the road (hence the reason so many amazing people have stayed here). Plus, it boasts a unique and explosive view.” Much of the 64,000-square-foot lot is flat, which is incredibly unique for the hills. The four-bedroom home recalls many details reminiscent of Hollywood’s Golden Age, including terrazzo flooring; a screening room; living room with walk-in bar; and brick-paved pool area.

Among the outstanding features: black-and-white checkered flooring, professional chef’s kitchens and a wall mural by the Brazilian street artists Os Gemeos.

Former Donald Trump Home Hits the Market

Former Trump Home Hits the Market

Donald Trump and the president of the West African nation of Gabon have both called this gated Beverly Hills mansion at 806 N. Rodeo Drive home. Now the residence is back on the market for $29.995 million, offering a rare chance to own a property on this iconic stretch of road; it’s only the second time in the past 15 years a home has been up for sale in the 800 block, just minutes from The Beverly Hills Hotel. Looking much like a replica of the White House, the 11-bedroom, 13-bath home has since been updated and expanded by the current owner (a world-renown developer) in collaboration with longtime Beverly Hills architect Yassi Gabbay.

Built to be stylish, yet durable and family friendly, the residence features almost 15,000 square feet of living space. Quality finishes and features abound—including azul Bahia granite from Brazil, Thassos marble from Greece and Italian crystal chandeliers (one that can be raised and lowered electronically). Meanwhile, other high-tech features include a custom-paneled elevator, a wood-paneled den/study with its own HVAC system (for cigar smoking), an en suite nursery with an air-purification system, and state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems.

“When you look at the features of 806, everything is so comfortable, livable and understated, while the technology behind that feeling is impeccable,” says Yvette Pozzato, co-listing agent with Paul Margolis, both of Compass Realty. “It’s very efficient; the owner chose all of the materials and systems for comfortable simplicity and usability—to have great wear, to be durable and easy to maintain, and for a family to live in.”

Yet other outstanding features include a separate wet spice kitchen for Asian cooking; a cedar-lined sauna; and a large lot featuring a zero-entry pool with jetted fountains and an adjoining spa in Bisazza glass tile, and a regulation-sized basketball/tennis court.
