Edward Slatkin Asks $36M For Bel Air Mansion

Edward Slatkin, an owner of Shutters and Santa Monica’s Casa Del Mar, is asking $36 Million for his French Normandy-style Bel Air mansion, located in the coveted neighborhood of Holmby Hills, Los Angeles.

According to Mansion Global, the estate dates back to 1925 and has since been restored, complete with a new master wing, chef’s kitchen, and a two-story pool pavilion with a fireplace, vaulted beam ceilings and a wet bar.

Former Owned By Dancing Partner to Fred Astaire

Once owned by Barrie Chase, an actress and dancer who served as a dance partner to Fred Astaire, the property includes a main house and a duo of guest cottages offering about 11,500 square feet of living space on a parcel of land totaling nearly 2 acres.

Among the highlights: a dining room leading to garden terraces and a glass conservatory; master bedroom with a private sitting area, terrace and double bath; and a third-story studio and attic.

The grounds include specimen cutting gardens, a greenhouse, two guest cottages, garage parking for five cars and a personal training gym.

Sharona Alperin of Sotheby’s International Realty and Ron de Salvo of Coldwell Banker share the listing.
