MILLION-DOLLAR HOME SALES UP 9.1% — MANHATTAN BEACH #1

– Walt WhitmanAccording to a recent report by CoreLogic DataQuick, the number of California homes that sold for a million dollars or more rose to its highest level in seven years last quarter, with a total of 12,826 homes sold during the April-through-June period. Statewide, $1 million-plus homes sales rose 9.1% year-over-year in the second quarter. Manhattan Beach 90266 ranked number one with 146 total home sales over $1 Million. A total of 265 homes sold for more than $5 million last quarter, a new record. Also reaching new all-time highs were sales in the $3-$4 million range at 469 homes sold and in the $2-$3 million range with a total of 1,595 homes sold. Interestingly, the most expensive home purchased last quarter was a 11,000+ square foot mansion built in 1931 in Westwood which sold for $45 Million in May 2014.
