About Dan O’Connor:
Having been born into the real estate business, Dan O’Connor went on to study at the University of San Diego (USD). There Dan O’Connor received a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Real Estate and a Minor in Accountancy with one idea in mind — to join Lori O’Connor as her business partner.
Having many different opportunities before him at the time of graduation, it was an easy choice for Dan O’Connor to come back to the area he loves and learn from the person he believes knows the business the best. Besides a strong academic background Dan O’Connor has brought many assets to their partnership, including a creative outlook, new relationships and innovative ideas that constantly challenge even a veteran like Lori O’Connor.
Complimenting each other’s strengths, they have strived to form a strong and highly successful partnership that gets better year after year. Having grown up here, Dan O’Connor knows the South Bay as well as anyone and is very well versed in helping clients with their investment properties, and development opportunities.
However, besides surfing and running with his dog on the strand, Dan O’Connor counts as one of his passions helping clients buy new construction homes. About Lori O’Connor:
Lorie O’Connor has been a dynamic force in South Bay real estate for over 30 years. She has won numerous awards and accolades including Top 1% Producer Nationwide for her dedication and success over the years. Being a Manhattan Beach resident for 35 years and raising two children here, Lorie O’Connor has always been a part of the fabric of this community. She makes it a point of pride to know each nook of the South Bay and can tell you everything from which schools have the best teachers and which neighborhoods appreciate the most, to who’s got the best Mexican food in town.
In 1986, Lorie O’Connor teamed with a partner, took a gamble and opened Realty World — Beach Properties. Dedication and hard work resulted in a successful South Bay real estate office that specialized in residential homes, construction and income units. At it’s height, the office was staffed with over 30 agents, doing brisk business even in the most difficult of times.
However, Lorie O’Connor realized that managing a successful real estate brokerage company and was taking her further and further away from the one thing that she truly loved about the business — listing and selling real estate. So in 1991 she turned over her share of ownership in Realty World — Beach Properties and returned her passion of being a real estate agent.
Since the Lorie O’Connor has consistently remained a top producer in the South Bay, even during the “90’s slump market,” selling over 15 to 35 million dollars a year.
I’m Dan O’Connor with O’Connor Property, part of Shorewood Realtors, your local South Bay real estate expert. 10 years experience, plus the thirty-five years of experienced my mom gave me and a lifetime South Bay resident. First year in the business was a whirlwind. I basically was my mom’s shadow. My eyes were huge, just listening and learning. She has quite the reputation of being a really hard worker, a really great real estate broker, and she doesn’t take grief from anybody. My grandfather was a contractor, my stepdad is a real estate broker and so it just seems like everywhere I turned they were either talking about real estate or doing things that pertain to real estate. We are very well versed in the selling and reselling of single-family homes townhomes and condos. We focus on basically south of the airport to the Palos Verdes Peninsula and everything in between. It’s a great community. Whether Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach or any of the other cities it’s just that really great place to live and so it makes my job a lot easier. And then we also do small residential income properties and we do have a specialty in New construction product which is hard to find in this area. We really focus on helping builders build more new homes in this particular market. Customer service is really important to us. So much so that we’ve designed the whole structure of our business our company around the idea that the client is going to deal with us, the professional, the expert. Technology has changed our office and how we run our business. It has changed our industry obviously…Ninety-five percent of the buyers look online at the property or at your agent profile before they call you or or call to see the property and so one of the things that we’ve tried it provide to a client is how to filter through all this information that is now out there because the internet. Ninety percent of our business is repeat and referral and I think that says a lot about how we run our business and how we treat our clients. The one word I’d use to describe the South Bay is: “Casual” — it’s just a casual atmosphere so if you’re not at work you are probably in flip-flops and shorts and it’s just the beach life.
