$60M Beach House for Sale in Malibu with Infinity Pool Overlooking Ocean

Los Angeles-based Architect Doug Burdge channeled classic Cape Cod design for a striking Beach House for sale in Malibu

The lucky new owner of this $57.5 million beach house for sale at 33740 Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu will be privy to an entertainer’s delight. Think a resort-style pool, fully-equipped outdoor kitchen and cozy fire pit overlooking the Pacific. Not to mention private access to a secluded cove at El Pescador State Beach. But that’s not all. Unparalleled ocean views are found from almost every angle of the newly-constructed six-bedroom, two-story charmer via massive floor-to-ceiling windows and French doors gracing both levels.

Perhaps the most stunning aspect of this traditional Cape Cod-style estate, though, is the way in which the lot cascades down from the guest house to the pool, and finally to the main house by the beach, according to Doug Burdge of Burdge & Associates Architects, the home’s designer.

“The most amazing thing about the beach house for sale is the view, looking over the main house from the pool pavilion to the ocean, with the infinity-edge pool ending up in the ocean,” he says.

Situated atop a bluff near Encinal Canyon and Beach—on a parcel where Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman’s home once stood—the private, gated residence features more than 8,000 square feet of light-filled living space rife with distinctive details, including oak plank flooring, custom French doors, built-in cabinetry and an elevator.

Among the highlights is an elegant master suite replete with a soaring ceiling, fireplace, wraparound oceanfront deck, and dual designer closets and spa-like baths; as well as a chef’s kitchen sporting professional-grade appliances and an attractive stone-finished island with a banquette, ideal for family gatherings and entertaining.

Outdoors, the 1.72-acre lot showcases an open-air entertainment pavilion boasting a fireplace and an outdoor kitchen with a grill, pizza oven, dishwasher, TV and two stone-crafted bars, along with a 70-foot-by-25-foot pool, sunken lounge area, pool bath and fire pit. A one-bedroom, one-bath guesthouse rounds out this property’s special appeal.

Says Burdge, “This is a one-of-a-kind, modern beach house finessed like no other.”
